Commonly referred to as "old-fashioned blocks", our wooden building block sets are based on the traditionally accepted dimensional standard of 1 & 3/8 inches. This is the source of their common name, "Standard unit building blocks".

In keeping with our goal of producing the best possible old-fashioned educational building blocks...

• Our wooden "unit" building blocks are manufactured using the solid, non splintering, heavy wood known as Northern Hard Maple. (Maple is very resistant to denting).
• Every surface of each wooden old-fashioned building block is sanded smooth and all edges and corners are rounded.
• No stain, oil, lacquer or finish of any type is used on our wooden building blocks.
• A damp cloth or fine sandpaper, if necessary, will remove all evidence of a child's hard use or creative artwork.
