Our business is manufacturing quality wood toy products. The raw material of choice, wherever it can be used, is prime Hard Maple from the forests of the Northeast. We avoid the use of plastic.

Educational Concepts manufactures maple building blocks, rocking horses, push toys, wooden tabletop games and doll furniture. Our wooden blocks are the type that we and our parents and our grandparents remember from elementary school. Officially known as "Standard Unit Building Blocks", these are the blocks designed and developed by educator Caroline Pratt at her City & Country School in New York City during the early 1900's. These blocks are often referred to as "kindergarten blocks" or "building blocks" or "construction blocks" and sometimes, just as "old-fashioned wooden blocks". Whatever the name used, standard unit building blocks are the most valuable educational toy that parents can make available to their children. They are unique in their ability to unleash a child's imagination, to foster creativity, to teach basic math principles through play activity and to help promote the development of children's fine motor skills. The dimensional characteristics of standard unit blocks and the nature of the maple hardwood used in their manufacture are the key features making standard unit blocks unique.
